Emma got invited to go swing dancing near Spokane, Washington by some friends in her Stake. She went and brought her sister along with her. While swing dancing she met Chris, who asked her for a dance. Throughout the night they danced several times together and had great chemistry. Once the activity started to die down and people started to leave, Emma began heading to exit as well, but was stopped by Chris. He asked for her number, and she gave it to him. As Emma left Chris hopped into her car, not wanting the time with her to end. They went to a nearby Maverik, talking and flirting the entire time, possibly driving Anna crazy. Back a the barn Chris was dropped off and Emma was on her way.
Emma initially didn't want anything serious as she was leaving on a mission, and Chris respected that. They texted and called a few times back and forth but the fire between them didn't start to ignite just yet. After a few weeks of mostly texting Emma would call Chris often. It was to the point where friends were asking who "Emma" was as they say the contact. In late February Chris and Emma planned a meetup in Collville, where they both played pickleball and went on a movie date. One date turned into 2, which turned into 3, which turned into the question of a relationship. Emma was planning on going on a mission, but "just coudn't leave his handsome face behind." She decided to stay, and from there Chris got close with her family. The rest is history!
